Underwent A Double Hernia Surgery. Swelling, Sore. Is This Normal?

hi, I am a healthily 54 year old man who underwent a double hernia surgery operation last Wednesday . I am able to get up walk around etc but there is still quite significant swelling around the incisions, particularly the longer one . The wounds are healing well. The area feels rubbery and sore as well as swollen . Is this normal or have I been doing too much ? Should I be spending more time during the day lying flat? Thank you for your time.

Hello
Thanks for your query.Based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have undergone surgery for Inguinal Hernia on both sides very recently.
You have swelling at the site if surgery.on both sides.
This is a normal tissue reaction to get swelling around the site of surgery which takes 3-4 weeks to become normal. Do not worry at all .Take antibiotics and anti inflammatory drugs that treating surgeon might have prescribed you .
Take proper rest .You are bound to get cured and recover in one month.
