Unprotected Sex. HIV Negative, WBC And Neutrophils High And Eosinophil's And Monocytes Low. Chances Of HIV?

Hi,
I had unprotected sex w a prostitute 4 months ago. But I had myself tested with an HIV antibody test 3 weeks after that contact and got a negative result. Moving forward, yesterday I suffered from a high grade fever of 39.8C, body malaise, joint pains. all that have disappeared already and lasted only for 24 hours and now Im left with having pharyngitis. I had a cbc done. Wbc is high (13.4), Neutrophils high (70.5), Lymphocytes low (11.9), Eosinophils low (0.5), Monocytes high (16.5). I also had sex with a masseuse a week plus ago (with condom). Is this HIV?

HIV AIDS Specialist 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.

With this presentation it is very difficult to say anything about HIV.
Pharyngitis and fever with joint pains are common features for an ordinary 'FLU' also or any other bacterial infection. Usually manifestations of early HIV acute infection may likely persists for more than a week, not likely to subside within a day. Blood count and differential count also is a response of the body to a spell of any acute fever.
HIV antibody test is expected to be more accurate after 8-12 weeks of high risk activity. So it has to be repeated once again after 12 weeks to get a more conclusive result to ascertain that you are free from HIV.
Get tested yourself once again and confirm yourself that you are uninfected.
