Unprotected Sex, Vaginal Itching, Yeast Infection. Taking Monostat, Symptoms Persist. Treatment?

My wife has had a yeast infection for almost 2 weeks now. It started happening a day or so after we had sex. She was sore (it had been a while since we last had sex) and said that she thought she was getting a yeast infection because she was itching a lot. She did take a 3-day treatment of monostat, but says she is still itching a lot. Could this be something else?

Is there any mucus like discharge along with itching?If yea that it is some mixed infection otherwise there might be any allergic reaction .
You should consult Gynec for diagnosis of it.
