I have high uric acid levels and the Dr suspect gout, I also take steroids having had cushings diseases and a tumour removed off the pitutiary gland. Now my body has ceased to produce cortisol as the tumour took over the role of the pitituary gland, the tumour produced excessive amounts. The specialist is weaning me off steroids in hope of kick starting the pitituary gland. I have got swelling in feet and knees, and my whole body aches-back, arms, fingers, thighs, knees, toes feet..... Is it gout(blood tests did show high uric acid) or is it being weaned off steroids-I'm so tired. I was excellent after op, completely cured of cushings full of energy, thus the specialist decided it was time to wean me off steroids-my life has been hell since. I've had to rely on Dr advise as specialist impossible to speak to until 2mths check-up. What do you recommend?
