Urinal Infection And Has More Urea Content In His Urine

My father is 59 yrs and a diabetic. He takes Dianil oral pills everyday for sugar control. But for the past 2 days he has been having recurring hiccups almost continously. His ECG and blood tests came out normal. But he seems to have Urinal infection and has more urea content in his urine. Doctors feel that he has acidity and hence put him on antacid syrups. But nothing has helped him yet. Is there something you can suggest?

These could be due to nerve damage due to diabetes to the nerve supplying the diapragm which is causing the hiccups..take a second specialist opinion.

Thanks for your suggestion. Would consulting a Gastroenterologist help? My mom has taken my father to a Gastroenterologist today. I am awaiting the diagnosis from them.
