Urine Is Red To Brown, Variable BP Levels. No Fever, Pain, Difficulty Urinating
For the last 3 days my husband's urine has gone back and forth from bright red to various shades of brown. The first day that he noticed it being unusual he did have one normal elimination. Otherwise the rest have been anywhere from bright red to light brown. I thought to take his BP 4 different times when urine was bright red have been 132/81, 115/88, 138/80, and 119/78. No fever whatsoever, no pain at all, no difficulty urinating. No indication of guarding of the pancreas (Murphy's sign). We haven't wanted to head to the ER and don't have a local physician.
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. Urine blood color may be due to many reasons. As you mentioned your husband's Blood pressure , more or less this is a normal reading, so don't worry. May be due to calculus ( stone ) in urinary tract system. 2nd reason may be due to hepatitis as due to breakdown of R B Cs bilirubin passes in urine hence brown or blood color urine. Consult a physician and get his opinion for kidneys and liver functions. Hope I have answered your question. If further any question I will help. Good luck. Dr. HET
