Urine Test Shows Increased Pus Cells, No Bacteria. How To Proceed?

Hi, earlier my Urine Test Report indicates that I have 20-30 Puss Cells and contains bacteria named as E.Coli and our family doctor has prescrebed Cifran 250 for 2 weeks. However, when I rechecked the reports the Puss Cells increased to 30-40 Puss Cells but with no bacteria. Please advise me to proceed further. Thanks, Ehtesham - India

Hi
Welcome to HCM.
It is worthwhile repeating urine culture test.
It positive, UTI needs treatment.
If negative and still symptomatic, speak to your doctor if tests to rule out TUBERCULOSIS of the urinary tract are necessary.
Best regards
DR GS
