Used Nordette Pfizer For Preventing Pregnancy. Can An Overdose Of This Medicine Still Prevent Pregnancy?

My condom broke and I may have released my load in my girl. I was told that nordette pfizer can be used as a morning after pill. Therefore, I made my girl drink 4 pills 10hours after intercourse around 1030pm and after 14hours around 1230am drank 8 pills then another 4 pills after 12hours around 1230pm. I want to ask if doing this process will help her prevent pregnancy even if she took more than the necessary dosage?

Hi and thanks so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about what happened during this intercourse. An over dose can still prevent pregnancy but the side effects of this drug can be made worse by taking an over dose. This was just too much for the purpose. IT is normally prescribed(light orange) as 4tablets within 120hours of the act followed by another 4tablets(light orange) 12hours later.

Please, next time ask a doctor or a pharmacist on how to use this drug to avoid excessive dosing. I am happy that you at least used a method of contraception. Condoms are good but there are other more reliable methods that together with condoms would be very effective at preventing both STDs and pregnancy. Please, talk to your doctor about this.

I hope you find this helpful and provides enough information for you to make and informed decision on how to tackle this. Thank you so much for having used our services and we do hope to see you next time if need be. I wish you good health.
