Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about your mother has been through and the recent ultrasound findings. This finding is termed endometrial hypertrophy and can be caused by concerning diseases like cancer or ay not represent any real danger. The greatest fear in her case is a possible cancer of the uterus given her age. However, I do not know if she has any other symptoms like vaginal bleeding or spotting, abdominal distension, etc that can make this diagnosis more likely. The final diagnosis of cancer is done through biopsy and we can only suspect at this time but not say for sure that she has it.

I also side with your doctors not to undertake any aggressive measures seen her age and current medical condition. We cannot for sure tell for how long she would have to go through any challenges. In whatever condition, be rest assured the doctors shall d all to make sure that she lives with minimal discomfort. No one dies these days in severe pains, we can always take care of those.

I hope you find this helpful. Thank you so much for using our services and please do feel free to ask for clarifications if need be. I wish you the best of health.
