Hi,
The swelling on legs is a post operative dependent edema. It takes about 6-8 months to disappear- depending on patients ambulation. Please don't worry till there no pain or induration.
The swollen veins are seen in old age due to thickening of walls of veins. They are normal. But if there swelling along the course of vein,& it is pain ful--let him take rest & consult your doctor immediately.
Thank you.
