Vomiting Blood After Running, No Blood Vomits After Swimming. Taking Antibiotics For H.Pylori. Treatment?

I throw up blood after running for about 40 mins, but I do not throw up after swimming 400 meters or biking for 20 miles. My gastro doctor has tested me. I do have a bacteria (pylori) which was treated with antibiotics , but after the first round of meds is still present. She has now referred me to a cardiologist . Any thoughts?

Hi.

Moted the history of taking antibiotic treatment for H. pylori and then getting blood in vomiting after running but not after swimming or biking.
This indicates that there may be an ulcer in the esophagus lower end, stomach or duodenum.
I would advise the following in such a situation:
Consult your Doctor again and get an appointment of a Gastroenterologist for an upper GI Endoscopy to know the exact cause of bleeding.
ALso go for X-ray of the chest and there tests of blood and urine.
Stool test for routine, micro and for occult blood.
This will allow to get an exact diagnosis and thus get treated accordingly.
Also needed is a PPI like Pantoprazole.
Soft bland diet.
Stop exertion of any sort including exercises for the time being.
Continue treatment for H. pylori.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant,
