Hi.
Thanks for asking in Healthcare Magic.

You cannot be pregnant as you are having periods. Nausea during premenstrual period is common and is due to the hormone progesterone. But just before the onset of period, the level is both estrogen and progesterone falls and so are not the reason for vomiting during period.

Vomiting associated with pain during period can be due to endometriosis, pelvic inflammatory disease or fibroids. You should consult your treating Dr. if you have vomiting with severe spasmodic pain to rule out these possibilities.

But if you have only vomiting and not pain and that too vomiting after food, then the reason could be gastritis. Eat small frequent meals. Do not take heavy fatty meals. Also take antacids like Gelucil and Mucaine gel. Do not eat spicy food and take a glass of warm milk.

I hope this is useful to you.

Hello dear,

The causes of vomiting can be:
1. Pregnancy- morning sickness
2. Gastroenteritis
3. Gastric ulcer

As you are having these symptoms from 1st day of your periods, pregnancy can be ruled out.
Moreover, vomiting right after eating meals suggest towards infection/irritation of the Gastrointestinal tract.

Though symptomatic relief can be obtained by intake of anti emetics, the symptoms will keep on recurring till the underlying cause is treated.

So, kindly consult a Gastroenterologist & get a proper physical examination done.
Based upon that, appropriate management step could be taken.
Investigations like Ultrasound scan of abdomen, & endoscopy will be helpful to detect any pathology in the Gastrointestinal tract.

Till then, take plain, soft, non spicy diet & maintain adequate hydration.
There is no need to worry, you will be fine.

Wishing you a Good Health.
Thanks & take care.
