My children aged 4.9mnths (boy) and 1.9( girl ) months have been vomiting and having loose motion post eating a heavy pizza yesterday afternoon that began at around 8pm.They had half fried egg, oatmeal and cucumber for breakfast.I have been giving my son alot of water and he is refusing to eat anything else.I have given him enterogermina, and a solution of water with salt and sugar and cucumber which is the only thing he is eating. My daughter seems to be doing better post the vomitting and passing of loose motions..she is breastfeeding only.Im not sure what else I can do.PLease advise.Thank you

Hi,

Welcome to HealthcareMagic forum.

The described symptoms probably seem to be due to food poisoning. As the symptoms are improving, your children seem to be fighting the infection and should soon be fine.

Currently continue feeding them with plenty of water. Fluids prepared with oral rehydration salts (ORS) will be better effective than plain water. ORS is easily available over the counter at your chemist.

Watch for few symptoms - fever, abdominal cramps, worsening of loose stools / vomiting or signs of dehydration. These are omnious signs which will need immediate medical attention.

Once the symptoms improve, you can feed them with semi solid or solid foods, till then ORS fluids should take care of their health.

Hope this answers your query.

I wish a speedy recovery to both children.

Regards
