Was Prescribed Premarin Vaginal Cream For Post Menopausal Dryness. Allergic To Premarin HRT. Now Have Burning, Itching, Painful Intercourse. Treatment?

My physician prescribed Premarin Vaginal Cream for post menopausal dryness (had Total Hysterectomy in 2007). I am allergic to Premarin HRT but can take Estradiol. I had asked my physician if the cream would cause a reaction but he stated it should not. Now I am experiencing burning and itching and painful intercourse. Could this be from the cream?

Hello,
Burning, swelling, redness, irritation and itching of vagina and vaginal discharge can occur with use of PREMARIN VAGINAL CREAM,although not that common.
You must stop using it and talk to your doctor for the alternative.
Thanks
