Weak In Upper Thighs, Osteoarthritis In Knee, Had Laser Back Surgery. Are These Related ?

Several years ago I had a laser back surgery on (I think) the 5th vertebrae. Greatly improved my well being because the dr. said that it was a ruptured disc. Lately I have become very weak in my upper thigh's to the point that I can barely ascend and descend steps. Also have osteoarthritis in my knees. Wondering if my weakness could be from my back problem as I can not see how bad knees could cause this.

Hello,
If you are having severe pain in knee then weakness in thigh can be due to this.Association with your spinal problem looks to be remote. For confirmation you should consult to a neurologist.

With best wishes.
