Weirdness In Back, Stiff Muscles. Damaged 2 Lumbar After Falling Down. Opinion?
I feel from my ladder , about 8 -9 feet , about 1 year ago. I am 64 now and have always been in good health. The fall broke my number 2 lumbar. While that healed by April, I feel still like there is a weirdness or bowing in my back, and I can't stand all day like I used to. I am very mobile, but stiffen easily now and hunch over a little. I started taking easy yoga but am worried that this is it for life. Any suggestions. it feels like the muscles in my back are really messed up , and I am done with PT.
Hi and thanks for the query, I do agree with you that yoga exercises could be very helpful in helping to relax your back. However, it could be most important to know the state of the spinal bones/vertebrae, exclude any possible fracture, which of course are not rare or some other mechanical problem. This is necessary to adapt treatment, treat appropriately while being sure and avoid any late complications.
I would suggest you get a spinal X ray and CT scans done, and obtain the opinion of your orthopedic surgeon. Thanks and kind regards,
It seems from the description that you have suffered a wedge compression fracture of L2 vertebral body. This will result in local kyphotic deformity which might be the cause of your persistent pain in the back.
