What Are My Chances Of Death Due To Smoking After Heart Attack?
I am a 58yr old white female who just had a heart attack and had 3 stents. My right artery was 99/80% blocked and my left artery was 80% blocked. I am still smoking and I just can't seem to stop. I know I'm in denile about the dangers of continuing to smoke. What are my chances of death?
Risk of heart attack and death depend on many factors like: -Number of cigarettes smoked per day. -Duration of smoking -Presence of other risk factors like: Family history, Hypertension, DM, high BP, High cholesterol and obesity.
Chances of artery blockage increases with smoking. As you already had 3 stents then continuation of smoking is dangerous for you. So it is better to stop smoking. If you are not able to quit smoking self then you can meet meet psychiatrist for deaddiction.
