What Are Possible Complications Of Prolonged Cough In 3rd Trimester Pregnancy?

Hi, I'm in my third trimester of pregnancy. I have a cough right now. I got it a week after my flu shots. Now, the cough is more than 10days. I don't really cough much, but when I cough it's productive. The only remedy that I'm doing right now, is rest and increased fluid intake. My doctor initially gave me a list of over the counter cough meds though like plain robitussin and dimetapp. But I haven't tried any of that meds. Do I need to take medication right now and/or consult my OB-gyn more about my condition? What would be the complications of this cough to my baby?
