What Are The Alternate Treatment Options For Traumatic Patellar Fracture?
Good evening. last year i had a traumatic patellar fracture, non displaced, with intact extensor function, treated conservatively with immobilization . with continued syemptomx of discomfort and audible grating/grinding, we did MRI which showed chondromalacia and flaying of margins of cartilage . wiht some loose bodies, delimination of articular cartilage in femur as well as patellar articular surface. the orthopod has recommended arthroscopic surgery, excission of demaged cartlage and microfracture technique. what are the alternatives... I am an internist in practice... just checking out this site .
HI Thank for asking to HCM Conservative management is the alternative option and this can be tried, and this includes putting the knee joint in cast in 30 degree position, but as you already tired it, but it is almost year gone, I personally advise you to give second try for conservative management if you have some clinical condition otherwise the sound that you feel is not a big problem, and that wont be dangerous, I hope you can understand this, take care and have nice day.
