Hello,
You had been bleeding for 4 weeks and finally had a 7 weeks
miscarriage. Miscarriages commonly occur due to medical conditions like when infected with
cytomegalovirus or rubella. Thyroid problems, abnormal chromosomes, poorly controlled diabetes, blood clotting factors,
placenta praevia, etc. You are advised to get clinically examined by an
OBGYN, all the products of conception after miscarriage needs to be removed else it will cause complications. After examination, the treating OBGYN will suggest further management with medicines or may suggest D and C if required.
You are advised rest and avoid stress. You should take home made nutritious food rich in minerals (iron, calcium,
magnesium) and protein. Give yourself adequate rest before you try for pregnancy. When you again get pregnant you should get clinically examined by an OBGYN and take all the tests and investigations (both partners) to stay on the safer side. If some test reports are not good you will be accordingly treated. Stay away from addictions if any (both partners).
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
