What Are The Causes Of Diarrhea And Vomiting Of A 2 Year Old While Having History Of Intussusception?

My 2 yr. old grandson has been sick for almost 4 weeks. He has been to Akron Children's Hospital and got a scope done, we haven't gotten results yet. He has severe diarrhea and vomits occasionally. They say he is not lactose Int. tested for Celiac disease and it came out negative. He had "Intussusception" of his intestines but was corrected. He was in the hospital for 3 days, he has been home for 3 days and it is starting over again. Any suggestions? We are probably going to be making another trip to the hospital tonight. Thank you!!

Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

Some children do develop diarrhoea following successful non operative reduction of Intussusception. If there is no bleeding in stools, no excessive crying and no vomiting then there is no cause of concern.
Any such patient who presents to me with post intussusception reduction diarrhoea, I do an Ultrasound do rule out recurrence.

Take care
