What Are The Causes Of Dizziness, Neck Pain And Increased Pulse Rate Of A 14 Year Old Child?

I have a 14 y/o daughter that during basketball practice she developed dizziness and had a pain in her neck. Because she felt odd she checked her pulse and it was greater than 200. What could be the cause of this? She has played sports before and this is the first instance of this. During normal activity she is well and has no symptoms. Concerned parent.

Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

The cause of such high pulse rate could be due to hypoglycaemia. So there is no cause for concern for single episode. It's likely to be hypoglycaemia induced sympathetic overactivity which has caused these symptoms.
Ensuring good hydration and glucose intake during games may prevent these symptoms.
Do consult your Pediatrician if symptoms recurr.

Take care
