What Are The Chances Of HIV In A Monogamous Relationship?
i was in a monogamous relationship for a year and had unprotected sex with my boyfriend once. It s been two years since that relationship and I just had an hiv test done yesterday, they said it would take 5-7 days for results. In the past year i have had a couple mono relapses (2-3) after graduating college, which is prolly due to stress. I have been tested for STD s and have none, my white blood cell count is normal, and my liver looks good according to the doctors. I am just worrying that i may have hiv instead of mono actually. do you think i am at risk of it? what are my odds? I m a good kid and i am really healthy and have only had two boyfriends, each monogamous, my current boyfriend we always use protection. what do u think?
Hi, Welcome to HCM. You had two boy friends. Then how can it be a monogamous relationship? Condom is not 100% protective. If any one of your partners was having multiple sex partners, your risk for HIV can not be overlooked. But it need not be always infectious also. So nothing to worry much and your test result would likely to prove that you are free from HIV/STD. Dr S.murugan
