What Are The Chances Of HIV Transmission Through Unprotected Sex?

i had unprotected sex with a lady in July who last had a retroviral screening in march. i requested for another test in late september which came out negative as the first one did. I myself went for a HIV screening just 5days ago and the result was still negative. Is it possible still test positive?

Hello
Please read this carefully and you will get your answer:
Western blot is the most commonly used confirmatory test and detects antibodies to HIV antigens of specific molecular weights.
Antibodies to HIV begin to appear within 2 weeks ( 14-15 days ) of infection , and the period of time between initial infection and development of detectable antibodies is rarely more than 3 MONTHS.
The HIV p24 antigen can be measured using an enzyme immunoassay ( E I A ) type capture assay.
Plasma p 24 antigen levels rise during the first few weeks following infection, prior to appearance of anti-HIV antibodies.
Now answer once your test is NEGATIVE , after 2 weeks of infection ( initial , if any ) , so be sure that this will remain negative in future also.
Hope this will help you.
