What Are The Chances Of Getting Stomach Cancer From Tecta?

been taking Dexilant for 2 years now...and it s not helping my acid reflux 100%. Still getting pain in my stomach and can not drink lots of water...feels like a tennis ball in my stomach after eating. Now, doctor prescribed TECTA to try for one month - to take twice a day 40mg each time. I m afraid to take it as I read that it can cause cancer of the liver or the stomach after taking those pantoprazole for a long time. but what is the percentage of people getting stomach or liver cancer from this medication?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted your history of taking Dexilant for 2 years. But not helping for acid reflux. There is still pain in abdomen, can not drink lots of water, feels like a tennis ball in the stomach after eating, now that Doctor has prescribed Tecta 40 that you have read online that it can cause cancer of the stomach.
There are no proven reports that can be related to cancer being caused by Tecta, otherwise the medicine would have been withdrawn from the market.
I would advise you the following:
Upper GI Endoscopy.
Manomentry studies.
Barium contrast studies for knowing the gastric emptying time and such motility things.
Take proper treatment.
You also have to change your lifestyle as there is a log time that you are suffering.
Stop alcohol, tobacco in any form if you have a habit.
Soft bland and small frequent diet.
Keep away the anxiety and stress as they are the most major contributory factors for not allowing the healing at all.
Further treatment as may be advised by your Doctor.
