What Are The Different Ways To Give Medicines For Children Suffering From Fever And Cough?
Yes, Thank you. I have a 2 1/2 year old boy who has now had a cold for 2 months and he has not been able to get over it. For about a week now until today his caugh was drasticly reduced but not eliminated. Most of his caughing was reduced to mostly at night always about 11pm to 12am. the day after thanksgiving we took him into emergency because he awoke in evening at 10pm vomiting and with fever of 101 ferinhieght. Emergency room gave him ibuprophen to reduce fever but with a struggle due to child not liking medicine. We always struggle to give medicine. Thats part of our problem. He was prescribed cetirizine 1mg/ml syrup. dodage to give him daily was 2.5ml. Well we gave him with many struggles but know that he was not always receiving correct dosage because he would spit out. We have since taken to a specialist and he had us take xrays of his face to see how his sinus were. We are awaitng results and doctor visit. This morning he woke with fever and caughing alot. Fever has been 100.7 - 100.8. Found fever suppositories so we could reduce his fever. 80mg FeverAll for infants. We are just frustrated with seeing him sick and not being able to help him. Please help.
Namasthe Welcome to Healthcare-Magic Greetings of the day
I could suggest the following two probability which could be cause of symptoms 1. Asthma variant cough 2. Gastro-oesophageal reflux
I would suggest you to onsult Pediatrician and Pediatric Surgeon for further reaasessment. In the meantime Normal saline nebulization may help to some extent
In case you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.
Wishing you happy and healthy life
Take Care
