Hello,

Considering your age, if there is no family history of early menopause, the possible causes for this altered menstrual pattern and the associated symptoms are-
1. Pregnancy. Though you had the tubes tied, studies show that recanalization observed with long-standing ones.
2. Hormone imbalance. Abnormal weight changes, stress, cysts of the ovary, infections etcetera can cause such situations. Please get further help from the health care provider. Pregnancy test, hormone studies and a sonogram of the pelvis help.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shanti Vennam
