What Are The Effects Of Diabetes During Pregnancy And How To Get Rid Of This Problem?

Hello doctor,



My wife is completed 8th month pregnancy. During 34th week in blood sugar test, it is noticed that FBS is 120 and PPBS is 204. Doctor saying it is high and they want to start insulin. I want to know the effects and remedies for this problem. Please help us in this problem to get rid of this problem.

dear sir I understand your concern.this problem is called as GDM.its not a big issue ther will be slight imbalance of metabolism during pregnancy which will lead to gestational diabetes mellitus.in this condition following diet plan is important.using insulin is ver very important for health of baby and mother.after delivery it will go away....you can have normal life both mother and baby.....mother should do exercise after delivery and should concentrate on weight loss for keeping her away from type 2 diabetes in future...if I am not wrong mother might have family history of diabetes in her family......relax.....regards
