What Are The Effects Of Getting Frequent Cortisone Shots?

I have been diagnosed with bursitis in my right hip back in April. The pain is still very intense, and Kaiser has given me Meloxicam, and three cortisone injections, plus tylenol with codeine. They have no other answers. MRI and and Xray were used last April to diagnose. Isn t there a danger having too many cortisone shots, which can compromise the bones. I am 70 years. Any suggestions?? thank you, Lynn

Hi & Welcome to HCM.
You seem to have been given multiple shots of Cortisone.
This may lead to fibrosis in the joints, a high risk of bleeding and infection or injury to structures inside the joints. It may also lead to thinning of the bones.
Hope this answers your query.
