HI,
Welcome to HCM!

Since you had unprotected sex, you can never be sure about semen entering into your vagina. Even the pre-ejaculate (fluid that comes before ejaculation) may contain sperms and make you pregnant.
Hence, I'd strongly advice you to take an i-Pill. It has negligible side effects.
Even if you experience few side effects like nausea and vomiting, the benefit certainly outweighs the effects.

Make sure you take both tablets of i-PIll. The first one should be consumed within 72 hrs, followed by the second one after 12 hrs.

No, it will not affect your periods.

I hope this information helps you. Feel free to ask if you have any doubt.
Practice safe sex.

Wishing you good health.
Regards,
Dr. Sridhar
