Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I suffer from Fibromyalgia, Chronic EPV, and have Rehm. Arthritis. I am interested in finding pain meds that would offer some relief. I am currently on Celebrex, and Lyrica. My doctor told me I could take vicodin for the inbetween flareups. Thanks
There is just no way to tell exactly what medication would work best for chronic pain symptoms. The best way is to start with medications that have proven to work in other patients and evaluate the treatment at regular intervals to tell whether there is a positive response or not. Other medications can be added or taken on depending on what the outcome is.
I will suggest that you give vicodin a try and should it work, fine. If it doesn't, then work with your doctor on trying other pain medication at appropriate doses and frequency until you both come to something that works great for you.
I hope this helps and I wish you well. Would be happy to address any further concerns that you may have.
