What Are The Possibilities Of Being Pregnant Due To Delay In Menstruation?

I had sex about 3 weeks ago with my husband, and the condom popped. I wasn t looking forward to a baby just yet but anyway my period is due 10/1 which is today. I have had cramping on and off for 2 weeks, especially today. It s the 2nd with no period yet. Could I be pregnant?

Hi,
If you have regular 28-30 day cycles, you had the intercourse around your fertile period. Cramping can occur in early pregnancy and also at ovulation and just before a period. You can have a home pregnancy test 3-7 days after your missed period or if you wish for an earlier and better confirmation, get an assessment of the serum beta-hCG titres. The latter gives you a definite conclusion as it is very specific and sensitive and you can couple it with a trans-vaginal sonogram after a week for additional advantage. Hope this helps.
