What Are The Red Small Dry Patches On My Son's Face?

My son is 2. He currently has several red small dry patches on his face. They are perfectly round and size are a little bigger than an pencil eraser. He has gained a new spot over night. We are leaving out of town for two days. Is there something over the counter, or do I need to get him in to see a doc when we return?

This is most likely an allergic rash (Pityriasis rosea - check it out on the net), and you would have to apply a mild steroid cream for this. However, this would be best seen by a doctor when you return from your small trip.
