What Are The Repercussions Of Missing A Dosage Of Rifinah

Good day. I m virtually halfway through my 3 months Rifinah medication, and have been committed to it, but went on a trip yesterday and forgot to pack it along, meaning i ll have to miss one day. Been worried sick because my doctor told me not to miss any day. Pls what do u advice I do now. Thanks

I understand your concern.
Rifinah 300/150mg is indicated in the treatment of all forms of tuberculosis, including fresh, advanced and chronic cases. Active substances present in each tablet is Rifampicin 300mg and Isoniazid 150mg. Rifampicin and isoniazid are active bactericidial antituberculosis drugs
It is very important that you take Rifinah Tablets exactly as your doctor has told you and complete the course.
In case you miss a dose, you need to comply it by taking the dose as early as possible, at least within 6 to 10 hours from the time you were taking the medication regularly and continue with the same schedule as before.
Take care next time such a thing would not happen as if it happens regularly, you may land up in complications and drug resistance, which would be difficult to treat.
