Hi am 26 yrs old i have had a problem with ma right eye since late last year. It got worse this year i was told by my ophthalmologist that i had a swelling at the back of ma eye which damaged my optic nerves and caused my eye to go blind. I was given medication which stopped and cleared the swelling. I came to understand that i was suffering from papilloedema. I wanted to know if the blindness can be reversible and if i risk an attack on my other eye?
Papileoedema is swelling of optic disc. there are several reason for it. First the cause is to be ascertain. in your case what really is cause, in majority cases it is due to brain tum our. raised interracial pressure causes it. Malign nant hypertension and gulen bory syndrome can cause this any way treatment will be according to cause. Neurologist may have to be involved in treatment.
