Hi,
Morphine is an opioid analgesic and in many patients it can cause itching (Pruritis) as a side effect. As you have decreased the dose, the pain has resurfaced. I would recommend alternatives to morphine rather than a decrease in dose.
The alternatives include methadone, transdermal fentanyl and other opioid medications. You can talk with your pain specialist about the above options. Do take the medications including solpadol as prescribed only. I hope the above information helps you. Thanks for writing into healthcaremagic. Have a wonderful day.
