What Are The Side Effects Of Amiodarone, Metoprolol, Lisinopril And Xarelto?
My mother is taking Amiodarone, Metoprolol, Lisinopril, and Xarelto---she is experiencing vision problems , memory problems, hiccups, and lethargy. I am concerned that Amiodarone is too powerful for her and causing some of these issues. What are your thoughts about this?
Amiodarone is used to treat serious heart rhythm disorders so the fact that she is on it implies that there may be a very abnormal heart rhythm present.
The anti clotting agent , xarelto is used with this to reduce potential complications of the abnormal rhythms.
Abnormal heart rhythms increase the risk of heart disease and stroke because a clot can be sent out to another part of the heart or brain as a result of this abnormal beat.
If for some reason, the amiodarone is not agreeing with her, then she would have to use an alternative to reduce risk. This option can be discussed with her doctor.
I hope this helps
