What Are The Side Effects Of Attenrol 20mg And Zisodone 20MG?

Hello Dr.

My name is Amy from Dubai. My son is Autistic of 4years old. He does evrything except talking while all other things are normal. He plays well, does respond to small commands, eats well and sleeps well. He is going to normal school and imitates action songs with "balbbering" words. We could sense his difficulties of not being able to express but to vent his anger is his "want" is not met.



We had consulted a Psychatrist and is medicated "Attenrol 20mg" and "Zisodone 20MG" I are not sure how he is to be taken care since we hear that these kind of disorders are to be treated within 5 years of age, etc. Also we are not sure about any side effects of these medicines. He sleeps almost for 6hours ing th e2nd half ot he day after medicnes which I guess drowses him.

In my opinion if your child is not hyperactive and not inattentive, he does not need attentrol. In that case he will benefit more with risperidone, or arpiprazole which effects the basic autistic features. the best for your child would be to undergo occupational therapy and speech therapy. If he is not progressing in his speech, then it would be a good idea to start him on PECS i.e. picture exchange communication system.
