Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I recently got treated of a severe vaginal infection. The treatment wasn t effective so I went back to my gynaecologist. She prescribed diflucan 150mg cap (single dose) and gyno-dermofix 500mg pessary (single dose). I took the diflucan on the 9th of this month and my menses came the following day so I took the gyno-dermofix on the 18th after my menses. After inserting the dermofix, I didn t see any discharge of the medicine and I don t really see any significant change yet. What should I do?
Welcome and thanks for your query. Discharge from the vagina can be due to either a bacterial infection, a protozoal infection or yeast infection. The treatment you received is for an yeast infection. The other causes need to be looked into if you are not better.
