Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I m on 500mg of Flucloxacillin 4 x a day and have developed pins and needles in my hands and feet, is this side effect of the drug? I also have a slight tingling feeling in my tongue and around my mouth. I have been on the tablets for a day and a half now.
Hello there, I am dr.milan an infectious disease specialist answering your question THough any of side effect can be associated with any drug, because every individual respond to each drug differently. Common adverse drug reactions with the use of flucloxacillin includes diarrhoea, nausea, rash, urticaria, pain redness at injection site, allergy, and transient increases in liver enzymes and bilirubin. The estimated incidence is one in thousands and is more frequent in people >55 years, females, and those with treatment longer than two weeks. So i feel this type of adverse effect is not related to this therapy. But i suggest that you just consult your treating physician once for this side effects. You can change flucloxacillin and change to another similar antibiotic from the same group.
