FEMALE--AGE : 54 --- TAKING GLYCIPHASE 1000 MG DAILY -- DOES NOT GET HERSELF CHECKED AS SHE WAS IN THE MEDICAL FIELD --ABOUT TWO YEARS BACK BROKE HER LEG IN AN ACCIDENT -- LOST HER JOB --SAW HER MOTHER AGED 84 BECAME HELPLESS -- NOBODY TO LOOK AFTER HER MOTHER WHO IS A PATIENT OF OSTEOPOROSIS, HIGH BP ETC.SHE STARTED TO LOOK AFTER SEEING NO OTHER WAY. SHE GETS IRRITAED AND ANGRY AT TIMES SUDDENLY --SOMETIMES BEHAVE LIKE A AB AFFETIONTAE CHILD WHILE TALKING TO HER MOTHER --- WHAT IS THIS PLEASE ADVISE -- IS IT DEPRESSION OR SIDE EFFECT FOR TAKING GLYCIPHASE UNNECESSARIILY ?

Hello
Female 54 years taking METFORMIN 1000 mg daily without any disease .
Now she get irritate , angry , behaving like a child , all these symptoms may be due to these reasons , these include:
1 Side effect of metformin or glyciphase 1 gm, these are :
Nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, diarrhea , DIZZINESS , CONFUSION, SWEATING , rash , weakness lactic acidosis , Vitamin B 12 malabsorption.
2 depression, due to her circumstances around her .
In my opinion consult a psychiatrist and get his opinion.
