Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries
Libotryp consists of Amitryptiline and
Chlordiazepoxide. The drug is a fixed dose combination drug and is commonly used in anxiety conditions, in symptoms of
irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), some times in sleep problems also. Amitryptiline is a TCA drug and the drug can cause sedation, weight gain, increased appetite, giddiness, dizziness, nausea,
hypertension etc side effects. But as 25 mg doses it is relatively safe and would not cause much side effects. Chlordiazepoxide is a sedative hypnotic drug. The drug causes sedation, sleepiness, headache etc common side effects. It can cause dependence if taken for
prolonged periods of time.
As per my opinion the drug combination should be taken under proper prescription of a
psychiatrist only. Don't take it for prolonged periods of the time because this may make you dependent and you will develop tolerance to its effects. Yes it can cause sexual side effects like delayed ejaculation, anorgasmia etc. So consider consulting your doctor regularly while taking the drug.
Thanks, hope this helps you. Take care
