What Are The Side Effects Of Methylprednisolone?

Hello, I was recently prescribed methylprednisolone (21 pills, 6 days) along with an antibiotic for strep throat and sinus infection.
Steroids lower your immune system... so why was I prescribed one?
(Regardless of that fact, I have been taking both medications regularly for 3 days.)

Hello
Methylprednisolone is a steroid and it is prescribed for many disease but there are so many side effects , these are :
Edema , hypertension, CNS, endocrine, metabolic & GI effects , arrhythmia , hirsutism , acne , skin atrophy, lower immunity, arthralgia, muscle weakness, hyper pigmentation, glaucoma, avascular necrosis , hiccups .
Usually methylprednisolone provide instant relief .
Different doctors have different opinion .
In my opinion METHYLPREDNISOLONE should be prescribed only in serious condition.
