What Are The Side Effects Of Metronidazole?

I have NEVER had a reaction to Metronidazole 500mg...I took the 1st 2 of 4 & within 5 minutes, vomited it all up without warning. I have only had coffee, waffles & bacon today but seems as tho the reaction happened rather quickly & then I began itching & have a few welts on me. I'm confused!

Hello
Metronidazole is an Imidazole derivatives and its most common side effects are:
Marked nausea, anorexia, abdominal pain & metallic taste in mouth.
But less common side effects are : Vomiting , diarrhea , headache stomatitis, dizziness , vertigo ATAXIA & URTICARIA ( as may be in your case ).
Need not to take tension , rather consult your doctor and take other medicine .
These effects are short lived.

However , sometimes coffee and other acid producing substance also produces hyper acidity , so be careful about that also.
