My son started taking minocycline for acne and he started having his heart skip beats and pound hard and was very dizzy and broke out in a sweat and fainted. He is only 17. Can minocycline cause irregular heart rythems and are there any permanent damage caused from taking this medicine. I am nit sure if my son has a heart problem or something else going on or if this is just from taking this medicine. We go tomorrow for an echo of his heart tomorrow morning. Can this medicine cause this? He is nit taking this any longer. How long does it stay in your system once you have stopped the minocucline medicine or antibiotic??
