What Are The Side Effects Of Montec LC Tablet?

Hi..Sir/Madam, I am 24 years old. In my childhood I suffered with wheezing by the age of after 15 I not expereinced such wheezing problems...but by 3 years before in morning and night the cough and wheezing problems are there..so I consulted the doctor who prescribed me Montec LC tablet..now I am regularly using the tablet..If I stop it its effect last for 48 hrs..again the problem arises to me...Is this tables has any side effect..??..also I wish to know any other remedy to my problem..( I have small dust and seasonal change allergy)

Dear friend, theoritically Montelukast and levocetrizine have many side effects and few are serious too. But practically speaking those are very very rare and I have seen many patients taking long duration therapy even without any major side-effect. Montec LC commonly causes bit sleepiness, nightmares, increased thirst, slight cognitive slowing. But most of the patients who take for longer duration they don't complain anything. You can try Montelukast+Fexofenadine(eg.Monti Fx/Odimont Fx etc), it causes less sleepiness. Regarding allergy it has got hardly any definite therapy. Avoid the precipitating cause(eg.dust/pollen/food etc). Breathing exercise (eg.-pranayam etc) might help. Avoid smoking. Good luck.
