What Are The Side Effects Of Montek Kid?
My son is 7 years old.He had severe cough & wheezing at night times.Doctor advised him to take Montek Kid for one month and to stop it later.30 days are over and after stopping the medicine for one week, he started getting the cough & wheezing again.Please advise whether to take the medicine for some more time,if so whether any side effects would arise? How long he has to take the tablet?

Montek kid contains montelukast which is used to treat allergic symptoms like runny nose, stuffy nose, sneezing, itching, swelling, watery eyes, congestion or stuffiness etc. It reduces inflammation in the airways and makes breathing easier too. Your son should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If your son's symptoms come back and his condition becomes worsen after stop taking Montek kid, then immediately consult your son's doctor and the doctor may advise to continue this medication again. Side effects of Montek kid are nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, dryness of mouth, fatigue, headache, sleepiness, stomach pain, joint pain, heartburn, indigestion, dizziness, difficulty in micturition, difficulty in swallowing, allergic reactions etc.
