General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Normet is commonly used to treat diarrhea, dysentery & gastroenteritis. It is usually given twice daily for 2 to 5 days.

Generally it is well tolerated however its common side effects include abdominal cramps, metallic taste, heartburn, and flatulence.

For stomach discomfort you may take an antacid and liquidity of the stools will subside over a period of time so continue taking it as prescribed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
