Hello,

I understand your concern. First of all, I need to stress that Pantoprazole is a prescription drug and should not be taken for longer than 7-10 days.
Long term use of this drug is associated to risky side effects, such as osteoporosis , vitamin B12 deficiency and severe diarrhea, beside many others.

Please stop using it right away, and see your doctor for a medication that suits best your condition. I am assuming you are suffering from GI reflux and I would advise you first get tested for H. Pylori, which is a stomach infection responsible for increased stomach acid and ulcers, in which case, you would need a combination therapy of antibiotics and acid reducers. Once treated, you will not have to be on acid reducing drugs anymore.

Also, your diet could have a huge impact on your reflux, so adjusting to a caffeine free regimen, avoiding processed foods, as well as coffe, chocolate and tea could and avoiding eating a couple of hours before bedtime could bring a huge improvement to your symptoms.

I hope this helps.
Wishing you all the best.
