What Are The Side Effects Of Plaquenil Use?

i my name is teresa.i have frontal fribising alopecia and my dermathologist is prescribing plaquinil long term.i am nervous of the side effects. could you please advise me on this tablet.is it worth the risk of the side effects or should i just let my hair fall out.very concerned and dont know whats the best option advice appreciated.thanking you

Plaquenil is composed of 'hydroxychloroquine', which belongs to a group of medicines called 'quinolines'.
When this medication is used for short periods of time, side effects usually are rare. However, when it is used for a long time and/or in high doses, side effects are more likely to occur and may require medical attention.
Side Effects commonly seen with the use of this drug include: nausea, stomach cramps, loss of appetite, diarrhea, dizziness and headache. If any of these effects persist or worsen, kindly consult your doctor and seek medical attention promptly.
